Austrey C.E. (Controlled) Primary School is a co-educational day school, catering for children from 4 to 11 years old.		TERM DATES 2010/2011 Autumn Term
It is a small, rural, church school with around 100 pupils. The school liaises closely with the Church, pre-school and local community and is part of a cluster of local schools, enabling specialist resources, teachers, learning support assistants and equipment to be shared, as well as visits and workshops to be organised jointly. The cluster is known as the Anker Valley Partnership, made up of six primary schools and the secondary school they feed, The Polesworth School.		Term Time: 7^th September 2010 - 17^th December 2010 Half term holiday 22^nd October 2010 - 1^st November 2010 Christmas holiday 17^th December 2010 - 5^th January 2011
The school has well established, successful induction programmes with pre-school, which is on the school site and The Polesworth School, to which most of the children transfer.		Spring Term 5^th January 2011 - 13^th April 2011
This ensures that the children's move from pre-school to the reception year and at the end of the primary to secondary school is a smooth transition. Parents are welcomed in to school and work in close partnership with the head teacher and staff to ensure that all children`s needs are met. The school’s aim is to create a happy, caring, healthy, secure environment in which the young child can develop confidence, individuality and good relationships with others. All children are offered a broad, balanced curriculum, including a wide range of learning experiences in order to develop knowledge and understanding of themselves and the world in which they live, and to achieve high individual standards.
The school seeks to inspire each child to be a highly motivated, independent learner, with a high standard of self discipline and self worth.
Good learning habits are encouraged, thus developing the whole child to his or her full potential, socially, emotionally and academically, regardless of gender, ability or background.
